Doctors are experienced and good. Only issues with ground staff. Need some social and behavioral training. They don't even bother ,in which condition you are.

This hospital is truly a blessing for Punjab. Every department has 4-6 specialists or super-specialists for OPD, ensuring that patients receive proper care without any issues. The doctors genuinely listen to their patients and are not in a hurry, unlike what often happens in some government and even private hospitals. The only issue I’ve noticed is the delay in treatment and tests. For example, my mother had surgery 20 days ago, and the doctor requested an ultrasound scan. However, the facility providing the scan gave us a date 20-30 days later. Similarly, for a stent procedure, we received a date that was 1.5 months after the OPD consultation. That said, if you are in an emergency, the procedure will be fast-tracked for you. The surgeons here, at least in the urology department, have done remarkable work, successfully performing complex and seemingly impossible surgeries—procedures that private hospitals wouldn’t even consider, as they often prioritize profit over patient well-being. Despite the delays in non-emergency cases, this is still the best hospital in all of Punjab—better than PGI Chandigarh in some ways too.

Frequently Asked Questions
What entrance exam and rank do I need for MBBS at AIIMS Bathinda?
MBBS admission runs through NEET-UG with 100 seats. Recent all-India closing ranks for MBBS have been around 1,700–2,000 for General category in Round 3, so students typically target 600+ marks to stay competitive.
What is the eligibility criteria for MBBS at AIIMS Bathinda in Class 12?
Candidates must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, scoring about 50% aggregate (lower relaxation for reserved categories) and be at least 17 years old by 31 December of the admission year.
How is admission done for MD/MS and other PG courses at AIIMS Bathinda?
PG admissions (MD/MS/MCh/DM) use the INI-CET exam. Seat allotment goes through INI-CET online counselling in multiple rounds, based on all-India merit ranks and course-wise cut-offs published centrally.
What is the total MBBS fee at AIIMS Bathinda per year?
Academic fee for MBBS is about ₹1,628 per year. Including hostel fee ₹2,728, hostel security ₹1,000 and mess security ₹500, students deposit around ₹5,856 in the first year, excluding monthly mess expenses.
How much do students actually spend on hostel and mess at AIIMS Bathinda?
Hostel charges are extremely low, historically around ₹150 per year with a total of roughly ₹990 over 5 years, while mess expenses are about ₹3,400–3,500 per month depending on consumption.
Does AIIMS Bathinda offer any scholarships or fee waivers for MBBS students?
Being a central government institute, AIIMS Bathinda already charges highly subsidised fees. Students typically use national or state-level scholarships and government education loan schemes rather than institute-specific tuition waivers.
Is there any bond or service obligation after completing MBBS from AIIMS Bathinda?
Central AIIMS usually include a bond clause with a fixed penalty amount if the candidate leaves before internship or mandated service. Students must carefully read the current MBBS prospectus for exact bond duration and amount before joining.
What kind of patient load and clinical exposure do MBBS students get here?
The attached AIIMS Bathinda hospital has roughly 750–1,000 beds and a high patient inflow, so clinical postings from clinical years provide strong exposure across medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics, and emergency care.
How are the faculty and teaching quality at AIIMS Bathinda?
Departments are staffed with full-time faculty in major pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical subjects. Students report regular lectures in air-conditioned lecture halls, structured clinical postings, and supportive teachers with good clinical experience.
What is the hostel facility like for MBBS and BSc Nursing students?
There are separate undergraduate boys, girls and nursing hostels with mostly double-occupancy rooms, common toilets, 24×7 power and water, Wi‑Fi, common rooms, TV and study rooms. About 120+ rooms are available each in UG girls and boys hostels.
Is hostel stay compulsory and what are the in-time rules?
For MBBS and nursing, students are generally expected to stay in campus hostels. Hostel residents must enter the AIIMS campus by 9:00 PM, with wardens and security monitoring late entry and movement.
How is the mess food quality and what options exist apart from the mess?
Mess food is rated average to good for a government college; monthly charges are around ₹3,400–3,500. The campus also has three canteens (Shopping Complex canteen, OPD Cafeteria, College Canteen) offering snacks, meals and beverages.
What sports, clubs and cultural activities are available on campus?
AIIMS Bathinda has grounds for cricket, football, basketball and indoor games like table tennis and badminton. Students participate in cultural events, festivals (Holi, Janmashtami, fresher’s parties) and various clubs that organise competitions and fests.
How safe is the AIIMS Bathinda campus, especially for girls?
Hostels and academic areas have security personnel, CCTV coverage and restricted access. Separate hostels for boys and girls, fixed entry timings, and on-campus medical facilities provide a secure environment, particularly for female students.
What are the hostel room conditions and amenities like?
Rooms are double-seaters with individual bed, study table, chair and wardrobe for each student. Hostels provide Wi‑Fi, housekeeping, laundry tie-ups, common rooms with TV and TT tables, and air-conditioned study rooms with uninterrupted power supply.
Is a laptop required for MBBS at AIIMS Bathinda?
A laptop is not mandated but strongly useful for accessing e-books, online lectures, research articles and making notes. With campus-wide Wi‑Fi and a 24×7 library, most students prefer carrying a personal laptop or tablet.
Can students do part-time jobs while studying MBBS at AIIMS Bathinda?
MBBS has a very tight schedule with classes, labs, postings and self-study. Students generally do not engage in part-time jobs, and outside regular employment conflicts with institute rules and academic requirements.
How does AIIMS Bathinda compare with older AIIMS like Delhi or PGI Chandigarh?
AIIMS Bathinda is newer but offers central-institute status, low fees and strong clinical exposure. Older AIIMS and PGI have larger research output and alumni networks, while Bathinda provides smaller batches and rapidly growing infrastructure in Punjab.
What are the career prospects after MBBS from AIIMS Bathinda?
Graduates typically pursue PG through INI-CET or NEET-PG, join resident posts in AIIMS or other premier institutes, or opt for government service. AIIMS branding, strong clinical skills and subsidised education support long-term ROI and career growth.
