Dr. B. R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Ajitgarh, left a lasting impression on me through multiple visits. My most emotional connection was when my newborn was referred here from PGI due to low birth weight (1.425 kg). The doctors clearly said they would only release the baby after he reached 1.5 kg and they worked with calm dedication to help us reach that milestone. The medical staff were polite, reassuring, and truly felt like angels during a stressful time. The women’s labour rooms here are another highlight spotlessly clean, well-managed, and strictly off-limits to men, ensuring complete privacy and dignity for female patients. It’s rare to find such well-maintained and secure labour facilities. My first visit to AIMS was actually during the COVID-19 pandemic. This institute was one of the government-approved centres for COVID testing, and I came here for my test. Even during that chaotic time, the hospital was organized, hygienic, and efficient. As Punjab’s fourth government medical college, AIMS Mohali continues to live up to its values of Humanity, Service, and Equality. With modern infrastructure, a dedicated faculty, and a compassionate approach to care, this institute is truly becoming a pillar of hope and healing in the region.
