"Kerala - God's own people" Reviewing with a 5 star will be an underrating for this hospital. People here are beyond the star ranking. Here is my small story... We had noticed lack of smile gesture in our baby girl Enakshi when she was 2 & half months old. She had blinking reflex, but was not looking at faces, was not able to follow faces and toys. She was looking here and there with no particular aim. We waited for one more month, then visited Nearest Shankara Nethralaya in Kolkata. They tested her for ROP and the result came out negetive. But we were informed that her Optical nerve was under-developed and she may not develop eyesight. Next few days of our life were a nightmare. Crying was the only thing we did during those few days. I have a deep interest in ayurveda, and have been in touch with Arya Vaidyasala Kottakkal and their doctor at Kolkata branch. I immediately contacted the doctor regarding my baby's condition and he suggested to visit Doctor V.K.V.Balakrishnan Sir in Govt. Ayurveda Medical College Kannur. After consulting Sir over the phone, I immediately departed from Kolkata and arrived here in this hospital. The rest is miracle to me. Baby Enakshi has started looking and smilling at us from the 4th day of therapy. Me and my wife have regained our life spirit after being able to see smile lighting up our daughter's face. We can't describe how happy we are, and for this, we will forever remain grateful to Dr. VKV Balakrishnan, Senior doctors, Jr. doctors, nurses, and therapists of this hospital. We cannot see God with our eyes, but we have been able to feel his presence through these people.
