I visited Cardiology Department OPD (5th Floor, GMCH-32) on 20-06-2025, in Morning with my friend’s grandmother for her check-up. At the front of Cardiology two staff (a male and a female) were handling patient cards. Despite repeated requests for senior citizen priority, they kept saying “wait.” The male staff member was extremely rude to us and to other patients as well. My friend’s grandmother, who is above 80 years old, recently discharged, on a wheelchair and unable to sit for more than 10–25 minutes, was forced to wait helplessly for almost 2 hours in front of them, even though her age was clearly mentioned on the card. Instead of noticing, they were just busy on their phones. Later I saw a board that said patients above 80 get priority. But it was written only in English. If someone doesn’t understand English, how will they know their rights? Such important instructions should also be written in Hindi so that every patient and family member can understand. This kind of rude and careless behavior is unacceptable. I hope GMCH and the Cardiology Department take strict action against such staff and improve their system
