Student Reviews & Testimonials
Very good college for engineering.. Facilities of all sports, cultural activities nd research available here.. Hostels and capus life is good.
Best inter iiit sport meet hoster goes to IIIT ALLAHABAD. infrastructure of campus was awesome with well maintained hostal and sport activity centre
Excellent college to learn and grow, especially the Btech in IT here is on par with many IITs and NITs CSE. Detailed: QS University Rankings: Asia 2016 and see which are the institutes in the engineering universities that have made it to the best institutes of ASIA . Also see the parameters of ranking and see the ranking of IIITA in ASIA. It ranks 10 only after IITs(Bombay,Delhi,Kharagpur,Kanpur,Madras,Guwahati,Hyderabad,Roorkie) and Bits Pilani in India. Where are NITs(Trichy,Warangal,Suratkal) and pseudo IIITs(Hyderabad,Delhi)? Only ranting about one’s colleges about research, faculty, etc. without any evidence is only jingoism and prejudice. Theorem 1. IIITA is the best would be institute to study cs/it. Proof:- Let us assume otherwise . If IIITA does not become the best institute for cs/it then what was the need for parliament to pass the IIIT ACT . It envisions that IIITA would become the best CS/IT institute . So, if you are so confident that the new IITs will become as good as the old IITs in future, then there is no reason to believe otherwise in case of IIITA. Read the act . It has been envisaged as the indian institute for cs/it. So, if iiita does not become the best,so won’t the new IITs. Because it is the MHRD that gives funds . It can make any institute an IIT if it showers money on that institute. We very well know that it is the funds difference that has made all the difference between the IITs and NITs as far as govt. colleges are concerned. Otherwise, colleges like nit allahabad, nit trichy ,nit warangal, nit suratkal, nit jaipur, nit rourkela would have surpassed the old iits only if the centre had not discriminated against them. They deserve our recognition and praise for the remarkable feats they have achieved despite the step motherly treatment of the centre. Theorem 2. The IT taught here at the btech stage is CS. If not then it does not matter. Proof:- See the course was decided by NASSCOM,under instruction from MHRD, to meet the need for quality IT professionals that would work in the industry. So NASSCOM designed an industry oriented course. The difference between CS and IT is that while IT is very industry oriented CS is not. So more electives and new IT courses will always be there int IT. But at btech stage no course can be successful if it does not have core cs subjects taught and all the core cs subjects have been taught. Now if IT hampers your job prospects then NASSCOM and MHRD are only fools. But we very well know they are not . The IT course in IIITA was one of the first ones to be opened. The private institutes are to blame for bringing bad name to the course as they designed it arbitrarily to get more students. Now if IT had hampered the job prospects IIITA would not have had such a good placement. Every year there are google selections . And the IT branch avg. is very good. Theorem 3. IIIT gets better professors than all NITs and some new IITs(not all) and any private institute. Proof:- Let us see through the angle of a faculty member. He gets the opportunity to live in the well furnished new quarters in the campus simply because it is new(many of them are really very nice esp. for administrative positions). The NITs are old and there is a problem of residence. The new IITs(barring IIT indore , hyderabad , bhubaneshwar and the like) do not have their own campus. Even if they are built it will take them time to attract faculty as only IIT tag is not enough(Though it is really useful). The labs of such a quality are really not to be found elsewhere. It gets a lot of funds for research and maintenance of labs. The faculty just wants that. And one more thing in other NITSs AND IITs there is competition among all branches to become dean or to hold key admin. positions . Here it is not tough to get into key admin. positions. It has a fabrication lab which only the old IITs have. There is no RGIIT Amethi factor now as it has been closed so it will attract even better profiles. Now let me tell you a secret . Every faculty wants to join a govt. institute to avail the benefits of the 7th pay c
