Indian Institute of Technology Ropar: Admission 2025, Courses, Fees, Ranking & Rupnagar Campus Life

It's a really nice college. The campus is very big but not very green. They are working on that. Hostels are very less so generally they provide a stay on a sharing basis. The campus is around 5 km from the market so there is no sound and noise of anything. You can see peacocks very often behind the hostel. The play ground and many others are very nice.

I wonder how it landed on top with the worst infrastructure. --1) library -- you will be wondering how come this college has a working library with very few books and very less sitting capacity.2) sports -- as of now they don't have any proper sports --no badminton court, TT, (no indore stadium at all), running track, swimming pool better to tell it has nothing that supports sports.So it will make us feel that they will focus more on studies but thats not true..3) hostels -- they build rooms for single person and allocate for two.Funny fact:They build hostel bhramputra for boys and it has been shared with girls.And some girls are given in staff residences also.And phd as per norms they will be given a single share room (HR) but they do fall in the same case as well ..If you join for internship or for some project they will give you top floor soo that you will leave as soon as possiblewe can see a lot of corrosion on the buildings -- shows failure in future vision4) Department: they were built without any future vision -- results within 7-8 years they don't have the capacity to establish labs resulting in competition or internal politics between faculty.-- they can't accommodate further phds but still they were selecting them.5) faculty: selection god should know how this process is going...Good ones are going/planning to go to other IITS , Rest are getting promotions

Very beautiful campus, Excellent food quality, Excellent Hostel facilities, Excellent Lab, Classroom. My orientation at IIT Ropar was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped onto the campus, I could feel the welcoming atmosphere.
