Established in 1920, Jamia Millia Islamia is a Central Public Research University spread across a 239-acre campus. The university is accredited with an A++ Grade by NAAC and is recognised by UGC, AICTE, and NCTE. JMI offers a wide academic portfolio with 324 regular programmes across multiple disciplines. Jamia Millia Islamia Admissions 2026

The JMI admission in Engineering, Architecture, Dentistry & ITEP B.Ed programs are made on the basis of combined entrance tests of JEE, NATA, NEET and NCET respectively. Students are admitted in few other UG courses of the university through CUET conducted by NTA. The University does not conduct any entrance exam for admission to certificate courses in Languages.

Students are required to apply online for Jamia Millia Islamia admission.  For BTech, admission is offered to eligible candidates as per merit on the basis of the final ranks in JEE Main. For BArch, admission is offered to eligible candidates as per merit on the basis of the rank in NATA.

The University also conducts its own entrance exam for admission to UG, PG, Diploma and Certificate courses, followed by interview and other components. Students must note that less than 30% marks in the descriptive part of the Entrance Test, wherever applicable, will not be considered for shortlisting of interview/ admission. Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam 2026

JMI admission of eligible candidates to all programmes offered by various faculties and centres of the University shall be done through merit determined on the basis of an Entrance Test conducted by JMI (except BTech, BArch, BDS, ITEP BSc -B.Ed, ITEP BA B.Ed, BPT and other courses). There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the Objective Type/ Multiple Choice questions in all programs of the University (except Ph.D).

Jamia Millia Islamia Scholarships 2026

Jamia Millia Islamia offers a wide range of scholarships, fellowships, and financial assistance schemes to support students from diverse academic and socio-economic backgrounds.   • A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Scholarship

UG and PG students from economically weaker sections are offered this scholarship. It is offered to full-time regular courses students only.

Eligibility Criteria

·       The Scholarships are open to citizens of India

·       Candidates must be bonafide student of Jamia Millia lslamia's Undergraduate/ Postgraduate regular course and bearino good conduct

·       Applicant must have at least 75% of attendance

·       Candidates must have passed either class 12 examination OR Undergraduate degree

·       Candidates must be from economically weaker secion whose income should not be more than INR 2 Lakhs per annum

·       50% of the scholarship will be reserved for female students of JMI

  •  Mushirul Hasan Doctoral Fellowship

To avail this fellowship, the applicant must be a registered Ph.D scholar doing research in the Faculty of Humanities & Languages or Faculty of Social Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia. The number of fellowships offered are 2 (One Male and One Female student). The duration of fellowship is 9 months, with monthly stipend of INR 25,000. The age limit of the applicants should not be more than 45 years.

  • Hakeem Abdul Hameed Scholarship

This JMI scholarship is offered for degree/diploma/ professional/ Technical courses. The eligibility required 10+2 with 50% average total marks, belonging to Minority/SC/ST/OBC/General Categories.
