Jamia Millia Islamia University UG Courses 2026: Eligibility, Duration & Fees
JMI offers a diverse range of undergraduate programmes across Engineering, Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, Architecture, Design, Health Sciences, and Hospitality. Most UG programmes at JMI are 4 years in duration under the NEP 2020 framework, except integrated law (5 years), BDS (5 years), B.Arch (5 years), and B.P.T (4.5 years). Furthermore, the minimum eligibility for most UG programmes is Class 12 pass with 50% to 55% aggregate marks from a recognised board.
Admission to 15 UG programmes is through CUET UG scores, while B.Tech requires a valid JEE Main score and B.Arch requires NATA. Additionally, programmes like BBA, BDS, B.P.T, and BHM require separate entrance exam scores from JMI, NEET, or NCHM JEE, respectively. Reserved category students receive a 5% relaxation in minimum eligibility marks as per the central government reservation norms.
JMI offers a wide range of postgraduate programmes across all its 10 faculties and 30 centres, spanning disciplines from Engineering and Management to Mass Communication, Fine Arts, Law, and Life Sciences. Furthermore, the general eligibility for most PG programmes is a relevant Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, though technical programmes like M.Tech require at least 60% or a CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale.
Admission to most PG programmes at JMI is through a JMI Entrance Test, except M.Sc Electronics (CUET-PG), M.Sc Biotechnology (GAT-B for 10 seats), and M.Tech programmes (GATE / JMI Entrance Test). Additionally, MBA programmes require the JMI Entrance Test followed by a Group Discussion and Interview.
JMI offers Ph.D. programmes across all its major faculties, departments, and research centres, making it one of India's most active research universities. The university awarded 1,048 Ph.D. degrees during the academic years 2022-23 to 2024-25, reflecting a strong research culture across disciplines. Furthermore, the Ph.D. admission schedule for 2026-27 is notified separately on the official JMI website at jmi.ac.in, so candidates are advised to check it regularly.

Jamia Millia Islamia University Entrance Exams Accepted 2026
JMI accepts a wide range of national-level entrance exam scores for admission to its UG, PG, and technical programmes. In addition to national exams, JMI conducts its own entrance tests (JMI EE) for the majority of its programmes across all faculties. Importantly, 15 UG programmes now accept CUET UG scores, in line with the UGC's directive to central universities.
