National Institute of Technology Durgapur: Admission 2025, Courses, Fees, Ranking & Paschim Bardhaman Campus Life

As an MSc Mathematics student at one of the most prestigious institutions in India, my two-year journey here has been both enriching and rewarding. The academic environment is exceptional, with faculty members who are not only highly knowledgeable but also extremely approachable and supportive. Their dedication to fostering both intellectual and personal growth has been a key highlight of my experience.However, there is room for improvement in the administrative department, particularly in areas such as the scholarship section and the UG-PG cell. A more responsive and supportive approach towards handling student queries in these sections would greatly enhance the overall experience and ensure smoother academic and administrative processes.Overall, being a part of this esteemed institute has been an invaluable opportunity for my academic and career development. Additionally, the quality of food in the mess could be enhanced to meet the expectations of students.

One of the top NIT College in India. I think top 3-4 in infrastructure, placement wise 8th rank in all NIT. One thing is not acceptable that , best hostel (Hall-14) is not for Btech or Mtech students. Hall 14 is 12th floor building and best hostel in all NIT , hall 14 given to self sponsered Mtech students, who didn't qualified the GATE Exam . It's a very bad feeling, the students who have money, they live luxurious life , and who had did hard work and qualified the exam , living in hell.Also mess food is not well, specially Hall-4In NIT Rourkela ,NIT bhopal, NIT Jalandhar all other NITs gives snakes and coffee in evening,but here in evening nothing has given for refreshment .Placement is too good, approx 90-95% CSE students placed in 2023 .

Overall it's very good and one of the best technical national level institute. Apart from technical courses, M.Sc on core science subjects ( Physics, Math, Chemistry) are also available here. A good no. of students also do their research work here on basic sciences and technical streams.Library facility is good, but it should be further better. All the faculties of all departments are very supportive, enthusiastic and cooperative.Natural beauty of campus is so good and discipline is maintained in the hostels that's a good sign for any student and their gurdians.Apart from study students can enjoy lots of cultural programmes , fests, fashion shows etc.Also there are facilities for outdoor and indoor games.

Had a great time at NIT Durgapur. The campus life, academic environment, and opportunities provided a solid foundation for my career.​
