Uiversity of Calicut offers a range of UG, PG, PhD, Certificate and other courses. Admissions into UG courses are offered through merit. PG and integrated PG admissions at Calicut University are conducted through Calicut University Centralised Entrance Test (CUCAT). MBA admissions are offered through CAT/ KMAT Kerala and CMAT. The university also accepts other national/ state level exams for admissions. Calicut University admissions are managed through a Centralised Admission Process (CAP), which gives a single portal to apply and allot seats into various colleges/courses. 

 

Online registrations for CUCET 2026 began on 23rd March 2026 and will be active till 16th April 2026. The latest notification highlights that the exams will be conducted in six centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur districts. CU-CET 2026 will be divided into 6 sessions in total. Each student can choose one programme per session.

 

Application fee for PG CU-CET 2026 will be Rs. 680 per program (General category) and Rs. 300 per program (SC/St category), plus Rs. 100 additional charge for each additional programme. Applicants can apply for admissions at Calicut University’s admissions portal (admission.uoc.ac.in).

What Is the CAP Process at Calicut University?

CAP stands for Centralised Admission Process. It is the single online system through which Calicut University manages seat allotments for its affiliated colleges and university teaching departments. There are three types of CAP portals:

  • UGCAP – Undergraduate programs (BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, B.Voc, and more)
  • PGCAP – Postgraduate programs (MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, MCA, and more)
  • IPCAP – Integrated postgraduate programs

What is the minimum percentage for Calicut University UG admission?

Admission into University of Calicut UG exams are purely merit based. You need at least 50% marks in Class 12 for the General category. Reserved category students (SC, ST, OBC) need a minimum of 45%. 

Can I apply to multiple colleges through a single Calicut University application?

Yes. One registration gives you the option to fill up to 15 college-course preferences. You do not apply separately to each college. The Centralised Admission Process (CAP) system processes all preferences together and allot the best available option based on your rank.

What happens if I miss the fee payment deadline after seat allotment?

Your allotted seat gets cancelled automatically. The seat moves back into the pool for the next round. You may get a seat in a later allotment round, but likely with a lower-ranked preference. Always pay within the window shown in your CAP login.

Is there an entrance test for Calicut University PG admissions?
