Top 15 ICAR AIEEA Accepting Universities 2026: Rankings, Fees & Seat Matrix

ICAR AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for admission to UG (B.Sc Agriculture) and PG (M.Sc / Ph.D) programmes across all ICAR-deemed universities and state agricultural universities in India. Over 65 agricultural universities across India participate in ICAR AIEEA counselling, with a combined total intake of over 15,000 seats across UG and PG programmes. The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, consistently ranks first in the NIRF Agriculture Rankings 2025, making it the most coveted destination for ICAR AIEEA toppers.

Government agricultural universities offer B.Sc Agriculture at highly subsidised fees ranging from INR 14,820 at IARI to INR 4 lakh at Central Agricultural University, while state agricultural universities like PAU Ludhiana and TNAU Coimbatore charge between INR 30,000 and INR 1.65 lakh annually. Candidates with high ICAR AIEEA ranks should prioritise IARI Delhi, NDRI Karnal, and PAU Ludhiana as first preferences for the best research infrastructure and placement outcomes. Furthermore, students from reserved categories receive significant seat relaxations across all participating universities as per Government of India reservation norms.

The NTA ICAR AIEEA 2026 is a national-level, computer-based test conducted in English, with distinct durations and marking schemes for UG and PG programs, and comprehensive syllabi for both streams are available for download.

ICAR AIEEA Colleges Scholarships 2026

ICAR offers three distinct scholarship categories for students admitted through AIEEA: the National Talent Scholarship (NTS) for UG students, the ICAR-PG Scholarship for M.Sc students, and the JRF/SRF for Ph.D. students. All scholarships are merit-based and linked to academic performance, with disbursement processed through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) directly into the beneficiary's bank account. Additionally, students who do not qualify for the ICAR-PG Scholarship at the PG level are eligible for the NTS (PG) at INR 5,000 per month.

The UG National Talent Scholarship (NTS-UG) is specifically awarded to students who secure admission in an agricultural university located outside their home state. This condition encourages national integration and mobility across agricultural institutions in India. Students must maintain a minimum OGPA of 7.0 throughout their programme to continue receiving the scholarship without interruption.
