  • MBBS Degree/Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Completion of compulsory rotating internship.

  • Required subjects: Medical stream (MBBS)

This means candidates from any state can now compete for state quota seats. Non-Resident Indian (NRI) applicants can apply for seats typically reserved in private and deemed medical universities, often comprising up to 15% of the total seats. They must hold valid NRI status or have sponsorship from a first-degree blood relative residing abroad. Required documents for NRI candidates include updated passport copies, visa details, embassy certificates, financial statements, and proof of relationship. Foreign applicants with primary medical qualifications from outside India must have qualified the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (Screening Test) conducted by NBEMS. They also need to be registered with the National Medical Commission or a State Medical Council and complete their internship as per Indian regulations. Foreign nationals may also need to obtain security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, before applying.
