AcSIR is an Institute of National Importance (INI) and the largest institution in India for doctoral research in STEM. Despite being operational for just over 10 years, the University has achieved remarkable feats, evident in its impressive NIRF and SCIMAGO rankings. AcSIR grants degrees to students at CSIR labs, and a diverse array of non-CSIR associate academic institutes, including prestigious institutes under ICMR and DST. AcSIR has active collaborations with international Universities such as RMIT, Deakin, and UWA in Australia for cotutelle PhD programs. That said, it still requires a lot of work, and I hope things will positively start to take shape with time.

This academy is backed by CSIR. It provides masters and doctoral degrees. Some Labs of CSIR have recently shutdown their master degree programs and the PhD program has no significance for applications in central funded varsities. So in short, it is a namesake University.
