All India Institute of Ayurveda, located in Sarita Vihar, New Delhi, is widely recognized as an apex autonomous institution under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Established in 2014, AIIA is dedicated to bringing synergy between the traditional wisdom of Ayurveda and modern diagnostic tools and technology. While autonomous, it is affiliated with Delhi University for its postgraduate and doctoral programs. The institute offers a range of postgraduate and doctoral courses across various disciplines of Ayurveda, with 24 such programs available. It places a strong emphasis on fundamental research, drug development, standardization, quality control, safety evaluation, and scientific validation of Ayurvedic medicine. AIIA houses a 200-bed referral hospital facilitating clinical research and providing tertiary level patient care primarily through Ayurveda, also integrating some allopathic services. Spread across 10 acres, the campus is envisioned to have 25 specialty departments. The institute actively pursues national and international collaborations with numerous global institutions to promote research and global acceptance of Ayurveda.
