It has been given Autonomous status by the University Grants Commission, India. It's been 6 years since I came to CMS college even though I didn't study there. But recently I had the chance to revisit. Most things remain the same. But some modifications have already happened and this is part of the changes.

Founded 200 years ago in 1817, this college stands as one of India’s oldest and largest educational institutions. Its establishment was guided by the vision of John Munroe, the Diwan of Travancore, with support from the Government of Travancore, the British Raj, and the Church Missionary Society. The college offers diverse programs across various departments.Notably, Kerala’s first printing press was established here in 1820 by Rev. Bailey. The campus, nestled near Baker Junction, boasts lush greenery and showcases the distinctive architectural style typical of Kerala. The well-preserved facilities include clean restrooms and a spacious cafeteria. However, some visitors find the cafeteria prices slightly high in relation to the quality and quantity of food. One challenge faced by visitors is limited parking space; many resort to roadside parking. It would greatly benefit students and exam-takers if the college could provide additional parking facilities.
