It is affiliated to Sido Kanhu Murmu University.And Now 👇Godda College, Godda was established on 15th August 1954 by the joint active efforts of the freedom fighters and educationists of this area. The foundation of its main building was laid down on 29th November 1957 by the then Chief Minister of Bihar Sri Srikrishna Singh while the college building was inaugurated on 23rd Oct 1959 by the then President of Indian National Congress Smt. Indira Gandhi.Before 1960 it was affiliated to Bihar University and later on to Bhagalpur University. It became a constituent unit of Bhagalpur University on 27thFebruary 1976 and then the University bifurcated on 10th January in the year 1992 under an established Sido-Kanhu Murmu University(SKMU) Dumka, Jharkhand, duly approved by the regulatory body (UGC).At present it is one of the constituent units of SKM University, Dumka, Jharkhand. It is a co-educational pioneer institute located in 36 acres of land in Godda town area of Santal-Pargana, Jharkhand. It has been providing UG and PG level of education especially to the backward and tribal community of this area. It has maintained the quality of teaching and research by offering UG level programmes (BA/B.Sc) in 17 subjects and PG (MA/M.Sc) in 08 subjects alongwith research facilities leading to Ph.D degree of the university. The number of faculties working at present is 35 against sanctioned strength of 52. Total strength of the students in all programmes in 2014-15 is 2352 out of which 762 are female students. The status of total SC, ST, OBC, Minorities and General Students in all programmes are 135, 1035, 836, 117 and 229 respectively. The institution has an Arts block, Science block, Separate B.Ed building, Library, Computer lab, Common room (boys and girls) and an examination hall. The teachers and students of the institution are recognized nationally and internationally in various fields of education and research along with social and community development sectors.The effort of the institution is to make a knowledge-based society with a view to protecting the interest of the community, and motivating the academic excellence and fulfilling the expectations of the tribal community as well as society at large.
