It is situated in jalandar, Punjab. It is one of the best universities in punjab. This university was formally known as Punjab Technical University. The university surroundings are full of beautiful flowers in the garden. The greenery of the university makes it more beautiful and peaceful.All kinds of facilities are available for sports and other departments.

This university is located on the main road so it is easy to locate and the university has many entrances but as far as I know only one gate is used to go to the university. The university has a lot of space which is utilised wisely. It has balance of concrete structures n greenery. The blocks are well maintained and spacious. Teachers there are very hardworking and trying their best in imparting the best to their students.The classrooms are very spacious with fully equipped labs. Students there get placed in multinational companies all because of their hardwork and teachers' teaching.

I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), formerly Punjab Technical University (PTU), is a State university located by Kapurthala highway in Kapurthala, India. It was established by an act of State Legislature on 16 January 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the state of Punjab at the degree level and above. Being an education and research university, it has a mandate to set up centres of excellence in emerging technologies for promoting training and research and development in these areas.The Punjab Technical University was established by an act of State Legislature on 16 January 1997 with a handful of institutes (colleges), i.e. 9 engineering & 5 management colleges. As of August 2021, the university administrates 290 affiliated colleges, out of which 102 are engineering and management, 146 are UGC courses colleges, 36 are pharmacy and 06 are architecture with 33 regional centres. The university has a land area of 78.16 acre and it owns 7 campuses located at Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Mohali 01, Mohali 02 (Khoonimajra), Batala & Bhikhiwind.Further, the university provides undergraduate and post graduate courses in most of the technical, management, hotel management, architect, pharmacy fields. It is currently undertaking and supervising the instructions and awards of 08 AICTE courses, 01 COA (Council for Architecture) course, 04 PCI (Pharmacy council of India) & 18 UGC (University Grants Commission) courses. Having 07 campuses and 290 affiliated colleges across the state of Punjab (India), the university provides education to more than 1.5 Lac students from India and 30+ foreign states.In recognition of contribution made by the former Prime Minister late I. K. Gujral towards the overall development and prosperity of Punjab, the Cabinet gave nod to rename the Punjab Technical University Jalandhar as IK Gujral Punjab Technical University A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in November 2013 and implemented with act amendment in 2015.

IKG PTU or punjab technical university is one of the oldest university in punjab. It's govt institution which provides technical study from so many year. There are number of engineers who are working in big companies are passout from here. Today I got chance to visit the study department of campus. Most of other colleges student visit for there university related or document released. But I visit the building which study js going on. First of all if you pasout from PTU and you visit you feel so good as it is well planed and we'll organized campus. You acutely felling you are study in university not in college. Study wise students are very sharp

A great university for technical courses. Very supportive teachers and staff. Campus is HUGE. Ample car parking space available.

One of the bestTechnical university in punjab state goverment. Area of the University is very big and the infrastructure are also developed. Green enviroment and Peace but the working staff at student section haven't good behaviour.

Dr Sandeep Mehmi deputy registrar special feedback for you sir .Pathetic ,worst experience I have in this university i reported at 9 am in the morning for my migration certificate and right now time is 3 pm but still I am not getting my certificate whyyy??? Payment is already done. Even I paid for tatkal . Is this is the tatkal service that you are providing . Very disappointing . student help desk maximum time the person left the desk no one is answering our queries such a pathetic services you are providing . No rush only 5 -6 student queries is it that much difficult to handle?You all wasted my whole day . This is the reason i am not going to continue with this university 👎👎

They all were well qualified and most of them were M.Tech degree holders. They teach very well and gives attention to every student.
