IIT Jammu, established in 2016, has been growing steadily as an Institute of National Importance. Here’s a detailed review based on its academic offerings, placements, infrastructure, and student experience:Academics and RankingsIIT Jammu offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, and Ph.D. programs with a variety of specializations. Admissions are through JEE Advanced for B.Tech and GATE for M.Tech. The institute ranked 62nd in the engineering category in the NIRF 2024 rankings, improving from 67th in previous years  .PlacementsThe Career Development Centre at IIT Jammu facilitates placements and internships. In 2024, the highest package offered was ₹53 LPA, and the average was ₹15.5 LPA, with participation from 175 companies, including Amazon and Eagle View .Campus and FacilitiesThe campus spans 400 acres in Nagrota, Jammu. It features modern facilities, including a library, advanced laboratories, and hostels with separate accommodations for boys and girls. The institute organizes events like entrepreneurship festivals and workshops to enhance student engagement  .Student ExperienceThe gender ratio is approximately 81% male to 19% female, with 96% of students coming from outside Jammu & Kashmir. The campus provides a vibrant, co-ed environment, focusing on both academic and extracurricular growth .ChallengesAs a newer IIT, the institute is still developing its legacy compared to older IITs. However, it has shown consistent improvement in rankings and placement performance.For prospective students, IIT Jammu offers a strong academic foundation, excellent placement opportunities, and a modern campus environment, making it a promising choice among newer IITs.

Went for a conference here which was 8th International conference in computer vision and image processing. Though the campus was not so big it was well maintained and so clean. The hostels were also great , equipped with all facilities. While I was there there was many construction work going on. They have bus facilities to and from the hostel and the campus.

Awe-inspiring.Just like I imagined...Just full fill your dreams by coming here with enjoying the breath taking scenic view of mountains.Very peaceful and mind cleansing experience.Enjoying every bit of it !!!!!

This college is also very pretty and situated in cold areaThe Indian Institute of Technology Jammu was inaugurated on 6th August 2016, and welcomed the first batch of students into the campus in Paloura, Jammu. In the initial phases, the establishment of IIT Jammu was done under the mentorship of IIT Delhi.In 2018, IIT Jammu shifted the primary operations to the Main Campus in Jagti, Nagrota. The State Government, Jammu and Kashmir has provided land for the establishment of a permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Technology in Jammu, which consists of 400 acres. Currently the Phase 1 A of the main campus, spread across 25 acres, is operational. Phase 1 B and 1 C are undergoing construction.The campus in Paloura currently houses the PhD scholars and is being developed into a high-end research facility.The main campus of the Institute is located on National Highway 44 and is about 15 kilometers from the Airport

One of the best 3G IIT in India. Fully Digital Campus with automatic light sensors, CCTV and more. It is blessed with top faculties with awesome knowledge. Yet campus is under construction but it has no impact on academics and hostel life. I have much more to say about this college. Stay connected! IIT Jammu is a public research university in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir. The university was founded in 2016 after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The IIT campus is located in Jagti, Nagrota Tehsil, Jammu district.It is approximately 12 Kms away from the Jammu city.

New milestone in history of IITs. Established in completely natural surroundings with all modern facilities. Proving the 'Heaven on earth' line. Amazing campus. Right now IIT Jammu has a transit campus which has two blocks (North Block and South Block). North block is mainly for academic purposes and south block has boys and girls hostels. Institute has all the basic facilities including two playgrounds.
