I visited Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) on November 6, 2024, for a short trip to purchase seeds and plants. The campus has a very pleasant environment, and the selection of plants and seeds was impressive. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

🙏🏻On the recommendation of the Kothari Commission (1964-1966), one Agricultural University was to be established in each state. Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) was established on 24 February 1971 by the Act 33 of 1971 and began functioning on 1 February 1972. In accordance with the KAU Act of 1971, the College of Agriculture, Vellayani and the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy were brought under Kerala Agricultural University, in addition, 21 agricultural and animal husbandry research stations were also transferred to KAU. In 2011, Kerala Agricultural University was trifurcated into Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU), Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) and Kerala Agricultural University

Nice campus. One of the highly rated agricultural universities of India. They accept international students also.

The best place to buy plants. Lots of grafted trees ds and plants. Really spacious and have variety of ornamental plants too.Also they have a variety of plants which have been researched and then modifiedReally loved the place and staffs are well trained

Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs): The KVKs under KAU play a crucial role in bridging the gap between research and practical application. These centers provide farmers with the latest knowledge and technologies through training programs, field demonstrations, and advisory services. The KVKs are vital in disseminating research findings to the farming community, ensuring that the benefits of research reach the grassroots level.

There is something special about this University. KAU provides a cool, tension free atmosphere for you to sit back,relax and build your career. Extensive practical knowledge for students. Bestow all facilities for your professional advancement. Supportive teachers, polite staff, student friendly officials. In my opinion, ICAR ranking is low because KAU does not submit bogus annual reports unlike other universities just for sake of ranking.

Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) Faculty guest house. Huge infrastructure facility built and not yet commissioned and operational.No justification for this idling asset.It should be out sourced for operations, if KAU is not having the bandwidth to run this.
