Established on September 6, 1989, this field unit operates under the aegis of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as part of the National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR). The unit actively supports the State National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme (NVBDCP) by providing research evidence and training to health personnel.
