NIT Goa is widely recognized for its commitment to engineering education and research, proudly standing as an Institute of National Importance. Established in 2010, this autonomous institution operates under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute recently transitioned to its state-of-the-art permanent campus spanning 114 acres in Cuncolim, South Goa, inaugurated in February 2024. Academically, NIT Goa offers diverse undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across seven departments, including Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering. Admission to its flagship B.Tech programs is primarily through JEE Main, while M.Tech admissions are based on GATE scores and CCMT counselling. In the 2024 NIRF rankings, NIT Goa secured a position in the 101-150 band for engineering, reflecting its consistent efforts. The campus provides a vibrant student experience, supported by modern infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, a comprehensive library, and sports facilities. A dedicated faculty of 55 members ensures quality education for its 911 enrolled students, maintaining a faculty-student ratio of approximately 16.5:1. NIT Goa boasts strong career outcomes.
