Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, is widely recognized for its pivotal role in cancer care, research, and education across India. RCC holds several national distinctions, including pioneering the first standalone Pediatric Oncology and Community Oncology divisions, establishing the first Bone Marrow Transplant unit in a government setup, and initiating the country's first organized cancer pain clinic. The center is also notable for being the first public sector cancer institute to receive NABH accreditation and introduce robotic-assisted surgery. The institution offers a diverse range of postgraduate, super-specialty, and diploma programs, encompassing over twenty courses across eight specializations within Medicine & Health Sciences and Nursing. These include highly specialized fields such as Medical Oncology, Pediatric Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiotherapy, Anaesthesiology, and Pathology. Admission to these esteemed programs is primarily based on national-level entrance examinations like NEET PG and NEET SS, ensuring a merit-based selection of aspiring medical professionals. Located within the Government Medical College campus, RCC provides a comprehensive and state-of-the-art environment for both patient care and academic pursuits.
