School of Open Learning, University of Delhi (DU SOL), widely recognized for its pioneering efforts in distance education, was established in 1962. A constituent school of the prestigious University of Delhi, DU SOL has consistently aimed to make quality higher education accessible to a broad spectrum of students, including those facing geographical or financial constraints. Its main North Study Center is strategically located at 5, Cavalry Lane, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007, serving as a key hub for academic and administrative functions. The institution offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across 15 distinct departments, covering disciplines such as Management, Commerce, English, Hindi, History, Economics, Political Science, Sanskrit, Environmental Studies, and various others. DU SOL's academic offerings are designed to align with the curriculum framework of the University of Delhi, ensuring that degrees conferred are on par with those from its regular constituent colleges. The admission process for undergraduate courses is primarily merit-based, considering Class 12 marks, while postgraduate admissions are based on a combination of merit and, for some programs, entrance criteria. DU SOL emphasizes a flexible learning approach, providing students with well-prepared printed study materials and supplementing them with personal contact programs at various study centers. The institution maintains an experienced faculty, many of whom are also part of the University of Delhi's regular colleges, ensuring high academic standards. While specific campus area, total enrolled students, or faculty numbers are not publicly detailed for the North Study Center, the overall School of Open Learning has served lakhs of students since its inception. The institution is focused on supporting students through various resources like its library and online tools, fostering an environment conducive to self-paced learning and academic growth. DU SOL continues to be a vital pathway for individuals seeking higher education through a flexible and affordable mode.

I’m very disappointed with the DU SOL assignment portal. The website has not been working properly, especially when students are trying to submit their assignments. It often crashes, doesn't load, or shows server errors, which has made it extremely difficult for many students to complete the submission process on time. This is not a one-time issue—the website is poorly designed and consistently unreliable. There is also very little communication or support from the administration to help students facing these technical problems.I respectfully request the university to extend the assignment submission deadline so that all students have a fair chance to submit their work without being penalized for technical faults beyond their control.DU SOL is a respected institution, and it is high time the digital infrastructure reflects that. Students deserve a functional portal and timely support.

It is in the reconstruction zone. There is too much dust and pollution all over. Since it's an open University campus, the government doesn't care much about its facilities. This HQ is running on minimal resources and equipment. Whereas Lakhs of students enroll themselves in this university every year. I don't think they have fund issues. Still they're poor in facilities and administration. It needs urgent attention from the responsive govt. bodies and authorities.

The staff there is ok. You can get your study material from there. Each room and counter has number plate,so it's easy to reach the counter where you want to go. Photocopy shop is very far from the building,so bring printouts beforehand.
