A college where I studied for 3 years and mastered the art of writing exams. This college will be forever ingrained in my memory as one of the finest 3 years of my youth - exploring, expanding and experiencing new things in life and learning.

The St. Philomena's College was declared open by His Highness Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar, the Maharaja of Mysore, a rare honour and privilege for any institution. The college became autonomous in 2011. It has been declared by the UGC as a College of Excellence with effect from April 1, 2015, a rare privilege for any college, with only 14 colleges in India and only three in Karnataka. The “NAAC”assessed and accredited St. Philomena’s college with A+ in the first cycle and A with 3.58 CGPA on a four point scale in the second cycle.

Choose this college depending on your goal. I studied here and based on my experience, if your goal is to enjoy your 3 years and regret the rest of your life, join this college. But if your goal is to struggle for 3 years, improve on skills, join a good college for Masters and enjoy its fruits for the rest of your life, then this college is a no.The fee structure is high considering the quality of education. It was a good college back then, maybe a decade ago, but now its NAAC rating has reduced, and its education quality is even more. The campus is pretty on the outside. However, classrooms are in bad condition. I love greenery and pigeons everywhere on campus.Dark and dingy classes are such that students may love running out of it to enjoy the cool, well maintained park-like campus filled with fresh air and greenery.Still love that campus, but not the quality of education.
