The Govt. Training College, Sambalpur, was established during the session 1962-63 with a sanctioned strength of 120 students in B.Ed. class. Subsequently the intake capacity of the B.Ed. class was raised to 180. With the introduction of M.Ed. course during the session â– 1975-76, this institution became a post-Graduate college of Education. 5 The sanctioned strength of the M.Ed. class was 08 during 1975-76, 16 during 1976-77 and 24 during 1986 and with 50 seats from 2015. As per government decision in 1986 the college was renamed as Dr. P.M. Training College, which was upgraded to Dr. P.M. Institute of Advanced Study in Education on Dt.10.11.88. The institute was providing M.phil in Education course from 1991-92 to 2020 and was abolished after 2020 as per the U.G.C policy. This institute has been registered under UGC Act 12b (2f) from 1962. It has been the nodal centre of the Sambalpur University for doctoral and post doctoral research in pedagogical sciences and UGC has made it a recognised agency for registration anddisbursement of JRF/ SRF for the subject Education.

Learned a lot from there. Dr. PMIASE is meant to provide guidance to the aspiring teacher community. It acts as the highest branch of the Department of Education of Sambalpur University. It offers pedagogy of Science, Maths, Language, Humanities etc along with child Psychology and curricular studies among the pupil teachers or in-service trainees.

Went there for entrance examination. Examination went good. The College is easily locatable. The security checking was very lose. Invigilators were supportive but were inattentive.The Fans were very slow and some of them were not functioning.
