Cut-off trends show an increase in popular papers like CS, DA, and ME due to higher competition. For IIT admissions, GATE scores (normalized marks out of 1000) typically range from 600-900 for top branches. Factors influencing cut-offs include total applicants (around 8-10 lakhs), normalization across sessions, and reservation policies. Candidates should aim 10-15 marks above qualifying for better chances in counseling like COAP for IITs and CCMT for NITs.

Historical data: In GATE 2025, CS cut-off was 27.6 (Gen), CE 28.3. Expect slight variations for 2026 based on difficulty.
