Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is widely recognized for its commitment to providing quality legal education since its establishment in 2014 under the Maharashtra National Law University Act. Located in Mumbai, the financial hub of India, this State University holds recognition from the UGC and BCI and is a part of the esteemed Consortium of National Law Universities. The university was ranked 31st in the Law category by NIRF in 2024. MNLU Mumbai offers a diverse range of programs, including the flagship five-year integrated BA LLB (Hons) and the one-year LLM, alongside various PG Diplomas, MA, PhD, and certificate courses. Admissions to the key undergraduate and postgraduate law programs are primarily based on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The university provides a conducive learning environment with essential infrastructure, although its permanent campus on 60 acres in Gorai is currently under construction. The present campus in Powai is equipped with a library, moot court hall, mediation centre, and separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. The university also has several specialized research centres. Fostering global exposure, MNLU Mumbai has established international collaborations with reputed universities such as L'Universite' Paris Nanterre, Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL), American University, Temple University, and the University of Waikato. These partnerships facilitate valuable student exchange programs and academic interactions. In terms of career outcomes, MNLU Mumbai has shown promising placement trends. According to the NIRF 2025 report, 35 undergraduate students were placed in 2024 with a median salary of Rs 10 Lakhs Per Annum. For the 2023 placements, the median salary for BA LLB was Rs 14 Lakhs Per Annum and for LLM was Rs 7 Lakhs Per Annum. The university attracts recruiters from leading law firms and corporate houses.
