Student Reviews & Testimonials
My University ❣️ The state university runs under the name of Mahatma Gandhi because during the freedom struggle for students who won't afford to left the city in name of education our alumni is late lal bahadur sastri ji & Chandra Sekhar Azad. This university has different kind of magic in it self but for that you need to feel the vibes of MGKVP.
This Vidyapith was founded by Mahatma Gandhi himself to attract youth from British managed universities. The secret agenda of this university was to create a good citizen and a freedom fighter. The people such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mahadevbhai Desai, Morarji Desai, Kakasaheb Kalelkar, ans so many others were involved with this institution and that explains the greatness of it. It is having an Indian Tribe museum, a huge library which having books from almost every Indian languages, a shop where you can buy khadi and other product developed by Vidyapith people. You can feel the Gandhi ideology in every person of vidyapith. Its worthy to visit after sabarmati ashram. While we didn't visit the campus itself, we met with Dina Patel, who runs the workshop that collects all of Gandhi's original works. She was a wealth of information and it was one of the most worthwhile experiences I have ever had. Her commitment to Gandhi's legacy is sincere and their efforts to preserve his writings are profound. Be sure to look for "The Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi."Mahatma Gandhi ji founded it in 1920 and he was the first Chancellor from 18-10-1920 to 30-01-1948 and after that Sardar patel became the Chancellor. The purpose of Bapu to establish this university was to promote educational institutions run by Indians for Indians and outside the financial and governing control of British authorities. The Goals of Gandhiji to establish this university were : Adherence to truth and non-violence, Participation in productive work with a sense of dignity of labour,Acceptance of equality of religions , Priority for the need of villages dwellers in all curricula and Use of mother-tongue as a medium of instructions. In changing time the university is also changing a bit. Take your children to this place to let him understand the work of our past heroes of independence fight.
Lovely places for Higher education, But this university known & Remember as a Freedom fighters. I'm very excited and feeling proud to be part of it's students.
