What is WBJEE?

WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) for admission to undergraduate programs in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture across over 130 colleges in West Bengal, including top institutions like Jadavpur University, Kalyani Government Engineering College, and Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) Kolkata.

It is the primary gateway for B.Tech/B.E. admissions in West Bengal, with 85% seats under state quota and 15% under All India Quota (via JEE Main). In 2025, over 1 lakh candidates appeared, with ranks determining centralised counselling via WBJEEB.

WBJEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Indian citizens

  • Age Limit: Minimum 17 years; no upper limit (25 years for Marine Engineering)

  • Educational Qualification:

  • Passed Class 12 or equivalent in 2024 or appearing in 2026

  • Physics, Mathematics compulsory; Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science as third subject

  • Minimum 45% aggregate in Physics, Maths, and third subject (40% for SC/ST/OBC from West Bengal)

  • Attempts: No limit

  • Reservation: 22% SC, 6% ST, 17% OBC-A, 17% OBC-B, 10% EWS, 5% PwD (West Bengal domicile)
