Bihpuria College got established in 1973 with the endless contribution of some prescient philanthropist of the locality. With a small number of academics, it endeavoured relentlessly to meet the demand of the society in the field of Higher Education. The college was subsequently brought into the Deficit-Grant-in-Aid system by Government of Assam in the year 1985. The college achieved recognition of UGC 2(f) and 12(B) in 1990. In the course of time, there felt an urgent need of Commerce Education in the Locality.
