The Campus is located on the Jalandhar-Amritsar Highway about 3 kms from the PAP Chowk. Fulfilling the demands of people of Doaba region for quality education, Guru Nanak Dev University established its Regional campus at Jalandhar in 1979 with English, Punjabi and Law departments. Objectives To provide professional competence to students with strong foundation in the core areas. To continuously enrich the teaching learning process through linkages with industry, projects, Workshops, Seminars and Conferences. To provide holistic education to the students through inter-disciplinary courses and Life skill development programs i.e. co-scholastic & co-curricular activities.
Gndu jalandhar campus is having a fame only in newspapers but in reality there is nothing, i have done ba.Llb(hons) there is no practical teaching,no placements. Teachers are just focusing on completing the syallbus after every 1 mnth we r supposed to give exams there is no time to grasp any practical knowledge in field of law,their teaching method is syallabus is in your hand techers will give u dictation nd on the other hand u hve to go for books nd study by urself, no exposure at all. Attendence issue is there . On the other hand, there is no canteen earlier it was there but from 2 yrs canteen is closed.secondly hostel is worst,u hve to please at every moment to repair fans or tubelight if needed.warden simply reply this is official work it will take time ..even fans are not working properly,cooler facility is not available .most of the universities provide option for the student to bring cooler with nd they r supposed to pay the bill personally for the cooler but ..no such provision at gndu. There are no law conselling competions or moot courts.students manage themselves at their own cost.
They deliberately give compartments to leech out fees from students . Too much focus on cramming. Although infrastructure is fine. Too much irresponsibility by clerical deptt as they failed to provide my final DMC and Degree on time as they forgot to post it. You have to pay money for getting your own degree and DMC . I couldn't fill many job applications because of that.
