Student Reviews & Testimonials
Ambient is beautiful. They have lot of funding issue and ego clash between scientists. Students are nice. Government has not put it's money to renovat it.
It is one of the best oceanography institute in world. It was founded on 1 January 1966, it has regional centres in Kochi, Mumbai and vizag. The institute has a sanctioned strength of 200 scientists and 100 technical support staff. The major research areas include the four traditional branches of oceanography - biological, chemical, geological/geophysical, and physical – as well as ocean engineering, marine instrumentation and marine archaeology.
Very well maintained campus ..loved it
Best place in India to learn Marine Science, Marine Robotics, etc. Research facilities are very good here. Not only research but also other facilities such as canteen , internet service, library, etc are also very good. Infrastructure is also very nice. NIO have four research vessels (cruises). Staff Quarters are also nearby the campus.
