Student Reviews & Testimonials
To all prospective students, from my vantage point as someone now working as faculty in North India and reflecting on my own college days, RMK stands out as a truly remarkable institution. The value you'll realize after graduating is immense. I urge you to see for yourselves the positive environment RMK offers and not be discouraged by negative opinions.
One of the best engineering institutions in tamilnadu. Excellent teaching by well experienced faculties. Good ambience with full of green trees. The only institution with cent percent placement. Separate courses are provided for sharpening the programming skills. A place like our home by food and transportation.
Fabulous college and all the students are well behaved. College is not only focusing on the studies alone but preparing them to be the best in their life skills. The discipline of the college is what I liked the most. Parents can freely leave their children and relax, college will take care of them.
Pros: *Placement opportunities *Lot of aptitude and interview based training in the final year before graduation. *Campus is fairly large and clean *Food is always fresh and healthy. No processed foods (except maybe ice cream once in a while). I have never had a single health problem from the food even once. *Safety for women ---------- Cons: *Less exposure to industry level trends. Regardless of your degree, you don't really have any clue as to what is happening from a career point of view. *Less application based training and more exam based preparation. Professors cannot dedicate any time to technical skillsets since the priority is focus on exams and covering the syllabus. Semester exams do not prepare you for your career. After graduation, it feels like you have very poor technical skills (unless you did a lot of self preparation). *Boys and girls cannot talk in campuses. If they are caught talking, parents will be called as if the crime of the century was committed. This creates a generation of socially awkward men and women who are unable to communicate properly in a professional setting after college. Personally, they should have just created a boys and girls college separately instead of these rules. *There are people called OAs, where one of their jobs is to report men and women who are caught talking. *Men cannot keep a beard or even a mild stubble (except for religious exemptions). If you are caught having a beard, your ID card will be confiscated and you will be sent to a salon to shave it off. *Strict dress codes for men and women. Even slightly deviating from it could get you in trouble. *Too much focus towards people who score high grades (to boost placements) and low grades (to increase overall pass percentage). The ones in the middle are not as encouraged, which is ironic because I have seen some people in the middle get more placements than the ones at the top. *Not much emphasis on culturals, symposiums and sports (no college spirit). ---------- This college is for people who are able to adhere to the rules with no contempt and want a simple, safe and straightforward college experience with semester exams and placements as the main priorities. This college is not for people who are rebels in nature. You are very likely to feel angered any time you step in the college because of the rules. You will spend a lot of time calculating when your last day will be for graduation from day 1. This college is not for people who want to be explore their artistic skills in cultural events and overall want an interactive experience with everyone regardless of the gender without OAs intervening. This college is also not for people who want exposure to cutting edge technologies, infrastructure and trends, as you will not go beyond what is available in the textbook syllabus. You might have one or two extraordinary professors once in a while, but that alone will not meet your needs as your engineering degree is a 4 year long journery.
