Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal has been accredited by the ICAR, New Delhi in the year 2001. The "Udyog Excellence Award" to the institution was awarded for the outstanding achievement through economic and social development, by the International Institute of Education and Management, New Delhi. ICAR and TANUVAS best teachers' awards were awarded for the staff members of this institute. ISO 9001: 2000 certification was awarded to this institute from the year 2004- 2006. Silver jubilee year of the institute was celebrated during 2009-10. As part of silver jubilee celebrations 17 events like national and international seminars, symposium, conferences, workshop, trainings, exhibitions etc., were conducted to enlighten the growth of this institute. Silver jubilee memorial pillar was erected and the foundation stone was laid for silver jubilee memorial building.

Located on the Namakkal MOHANUR highway. Producing lot of doctorate students. A mini zoo which includes hens, Pigs horses ostrich rabbit buffalo goat cow etc....is also available. A vast well equipped veternary hospital is providing a huge service to the local farmers for their herds. A noble institute which caters the entire district's animals ailments injuries.
