What is GUJCET?
The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) for admission to undergraduate engineering (B.E./B.Tech) and pharmacy (B.Pharm) programs in government, grant-in-aid, and self-financed colleges across Gujarat. Established under the Gujarat Professional Technical Educational Colleges or Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fee) Act, 2007, GUJCET assesses candidates' knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology through a 3-hour offline test.
Annually, over 1.2 lakh candidates appear, competing for approximately 1.3 lakh seats in 200+ engineering colleges and 50+ pharmacy institutes. Students take GUJCET to secure merit-based admissions with low fees in top colleges like LD College of Engineering and Government Engineering College, benefiting from strong placements (average 4–6 LPA in IT/engineering sectors) and state quota reservations. It is particularly attractive for Gujarat residents seeking affordable education (fees ₹1,000–₹1 lakh/year), while non-Gujarat students access limited All India seats (15%) in private colleges, making it a viable alternative to national exams like JEE Main or NEET for regional opportunities.
GUJCET 2026 Highlights
GUJCET 2026 will be conducted offline with 120 MCQs based on GSEB HSC syllabus, focusing on core science subjects for engineering and pharmacy streams.
