Bhavan's College Scholarships and Financial Aid

Bhavan's College provides comprehensive financial support through various scholarships and fee waiver programs. These initiatives include institutional freeships for junior, degree, and postgraduate students, alongside facilitating access to numerous government schemes. Government of India Scholarship / Government of Maharashtra Free-ship for SC/ST/NT/OBC students	Students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Nomadic Tribes (NT), and Other Backward Classes (OBC). Bikash Bhavan Scholarship (Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship - SVMCM)	Meritorious students from economically weaker families, who are domicile students of West Bengal and pursuing higher studies in institutions within the state. Kanyashree recipients are also permitted to apply. Eligible candidates must have passed their qualifying examination in 2024, 2023, 2022, or 2021. Candidates from earlier years (2020 or before) require 75% marks.	Structured financial support across various academic levels, with monthly scholarships. Award amounts differ based on the course, directorate, and level of study.	Online application window reopened for the academic year 2025-26, with a deadline of March 31, 2026. A clear, step-by-step procedure for application and sanction is available.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students	Students studying regularly (not through correspondence or distance education) in recognized educational institutions in the 10+2 pattern or equivalent Class XII. Must have passed the relevant subject for the particular board examination, not availing any other scholarship, and have a family income up to Rs. 4.5 lakhs. Reservation for SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC (27%), and 5% horizontal reservation for students with Benchmark Disabilities.	Financial assistance for pursuing graduate / postgraduate degrees in colleges and universities and for professional courses.	Awarded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, based on results of Higher Secondary / Class XII Board Examination.
Government Freeships for Wards of Primary Teachers, Secondary School Teachers, Freedom Fighters, and E.B.C. students	Deserving students who are wards of Government Primary Teachers, Secondary School Teachers, Freedom Fighters, or Economically Backward Class (E.B.C.) students.
