It was officially established on 21 October 1950 by then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.A great educational institution under CSIR. Having different branches of studies in Biological Science.The main building itself is a great attraction. An old palace of Mysuru.Students from different states of India and abroad pursuing graduation, post graduation and doctorate studies over here with CSIR scholarship.
