Hello Everyone I am an alumni of ICAT design and media college Bangalore, photography department. I have completed my B. SC. degree in photography in 2024 and I got a good and satisfying placement also from college. Our college standout feature is trained, supportive faculties, regular workshops and guestlectures. And our labs are equipped with all the new and required gadgets in the industry.
I completed my Master’s in Multimedia here, and it was a great learning experience. The college focuses on practical, hands-on training using industry-standard software. Our HOD went out of his way to arrange webinars, seminars, and connect us with industry professionals. The environment is creative and supportive. We were always encouraged to upskill and grow—not just in our core field, but also in the soft skills needed for today’s workplace. A great choice for anyone looking for practical learning, and also for those who are new to the field and want to get into it.
As a recent MSc Multimedia graduate from ICAT Bangalore, I’d like to share a few thoughts based on my journey. The campus might not be massive or ultra-modern, but it has everything needed for creative learning. It's functional, compact, and well-located in the heart of the city, which made commuting to college much easier. The labs and equipment are very good they’re definitely enough to get hands-on experience if you’re proactive. What stood out to me the most was the support from a few faculty members in the multimedia department. Some of the professors really went out of their way to guide us, especially during our final year projects and graduation showcase works. They were open to ideas, encouraged experimentation, and gave constructive feedback when needed. A special mention to our HOD, who maintained a healthy balance of discipline and creative freedom, and was always approachable when we needed guidance. What I appreciated is the freedom we got to shape our projects and explore various mediums mfrom 3D, VFX, Graphic and UI/UX design, to interactive media. Overall, ICAT gave me a solid foundation and space to discover my strengths. I’d recommend it to students who are truly passionate and willing to take ownership of their learning. The college will support you, but it’s your drive that will make the real difference.
I joined ICAT College of Design and Media with a dream of landing a job in the gaming industry and today, I’m living that dream. From my very first classes with Sandeep Sir, who inspired me to think creatively, to the unforgettable game jam events that pushed my limits. The alumni network was a game-changer—mentors like Mr. Mugundhan guided me towards mastering XR development and finding my path. Huge thanks to my HOD and wonderful staffs who always believed in me and kept me motivated. Thanks to ICAT, I’m now working as XR Developer, doing what I love every day, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you ICAT for making my dreams a reality!
