Introduction Mahadevappa Rampure (MR) Medical College - The Government of Karnataka had decided to establish a Medical College at Bellary instead of Gulbarga. Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society under the leadership of Sri Mahadevappa Rampure started a Medical College in Private sector in 1963. Sri S. Nijalingappa, the then Chief Minister, Govt. of Karnataka, Sri. Veerendra Patil and Dr. D. C. Pavate helped in establishing the Medical college. Medical College was started in 1963 with mission to bring out quality doctors by imparting quality education to meet the present and changing expectation of the people and improving the health status of the people of this region by offering health care and providing optimum training facilities for Medical students. In 1973, Sri. Mahadevappa Rampure, the architect & founder of the Medical College left to heavenly abode and to salute his vision, dynamism and hard work in establishing this College, it was named after him as "Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College". About College Logo Designed by Sri. Prabhakar, an artist in Dept. of Anatomy which truly represents the mission of the college. Serpent and twig: Universally accepted symbol of Medical Profession adopted from Greek Mythology which is based on the earlier leader in Greek Medicine named Aescalupius (1200 BC) whose daughter Hygiea was worshiped as Goddess of Health. Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College (MRMC) is a semi-government medical college in Gulbarga, Karnataka, India. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society[2] established MRMC in 1963, and opened Basaveshwar Teaching and General Hospital in January 1967. The college received recognition from the Medical Council of India in 1972 The clinical training was initially at the present District General Hospital in Gulbarga. From 2005, all clinical teaching activity was moved to hospitals operated by the college, Basaveshwara Teaching and General Hospital, Gulbarga and Sangameshwar Teaching Hospital to satisfy Medical Council of India requirements. This is not good college because one of the lecture name baswaraj donno regarding dvt and even for high risk of health acted negligence but still working in that college after recommendation with payment due to his negligence his two brothers got death with his guidance for his treatment maybe for property reason after his retirement still joined in that college again and enjoying his salary his brothers wife and children are still suffering without home i dunno what kind of colleges now a days
