Student Reviews & Testimonials
Saheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is amongst one of the better college in India for commerce stream and definitely worth considering for other streams as well. The college although is small comparatively to other top college our principal lord atree is doing it's best to improve itself. The college consists of around 3000 morning and 3100 evening college people ranging from 1st year to final year. Academics is (8.5/10): Our commerce and eco faculty is goated, shoutout to miss pallavi manchanda and miss soumya verma they are among sweetest staff members. While commerce faculty is strict they do their job pretty well you could blame large batch size of 60+ students which might be causing inefficient teaching. College Life is (4/10): Vast number of du students aren't from delhi and this college not having a hostel and nearby area being expensive does a very good job at making a dent in your pocket. Which contributes to bad college life experiences. Different people might have different experience i for myself isn't in any society or have a friend group so that might skewed the experience. Overall my experience has been a mixed bag especially with strict attendence policy which has been recently announced here.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is a co-ed institute which was established in 1967. It is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. The college is a part of the South Campus and is located at Sheikh Sarai Phase II. Chirag Delhi, Panchsheel park and Greater kailash, are the nearest metro stations. The college commerce courses has very good placements. Infrastructure is good but the campus is small as in all DU colleges. The canteen food was not good when I visited the campus. SBSC has both the morning and evening college.
So, this information for new students of 2024 who choose BS HONS ENGLISH, yeah its your college and its near metro is Chirag Delhi don't search on Google they are showing so many stations.
Choosing a college is a life-changing decision, and with the vibrant options on South Campus, it can feel overwhelming. But allow me to introduce you to a hidden gem – Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC). A Legacy Rooted in Freedom: Established in 1967, SBSC honors the legacy of the iconic revolutionary, Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Upholding his ideals of justice and intellectual pursuit, the college fosters a culture of academic excellence within its serene South Delhi campus. Here, you'll find the perfect balance between rigorous academics and a nurturing community spirit. Beyond the Metro Mayhem: Unlike some South Campus colleges, SBSC offers a welcome escape from the daily metro rush. Forget the long queues at Durgabai Deshmukh station! SBSC's location allows for a relaxed commute to nearby stations like Chirag Delhi, Panchsheel Park, or Greater Kailash. This translates to less stress and more time to delve into your studies and explore campus life. A Culinary Delight: Step into the SBSC canteen, and prepare to have your taste buds tantalized. Renowned for its superior quality and diverse offerings, the food consistently outshines even the canteens of Moti Lal Nehru College and Ram Lal Anand College. From comforting Indian dishes to international delights, SBSC's canteen caters to every palate, ensuring a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience. Intellectual Powerhouse: SBSC fosters a vibrant intellectual environment. The student body here is known for its sharp minds and articulate nature. Engaging in conversations with your peers, you'll discover a passion for learning and a drive to excel. These interactions not only enrich your understanding but also prepare you to confidently represent SBSC in any intellectual forum. Considering All Aspects: Just like any institution, SBSC has its own strengths and weaknesses. While it shines in terms of manageable commutes, top-notch dining options, and an intellectually stimulating environment, it's important to conduct your own research to determine if it aligns with your academic and social aspirations. The Final Verdict: Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is an exceptional institution that deserves serious consideration. Explore its diverse academic programs, delve deeper into its unique culture, and make an informed decision. Remember, the perfect college is the one that best reflects your individual goals and aspirations. Thank you for reading! I wish you all the best in your college selection process. P.S. While this review focuses on the general strengths of SBSC, it's important to research the specific courses offered by the college to see if they align with your academic interests.
