AIIMS Deoghar, located in Devipur, is the best hospital in the Chhota Nagpur region. It offers excellent medical services with humble doctors and good staff behavior. The spacious campus has great infrastructure and ample parking. Despite being under development, the OPD serves ~400 patients daily. However, poor queue management and secretary services need improvement.

How do I apply specifically for AIIMS Deoghar after NEET?

First register for MCC UG counselling using your NEET-UG score, then choose “AIIMS Deoghar” in your college preferences. If allotted, you download the allotment letter and physically report at AIIMS Deoghar with documents and fee within the given dates in the institute’s MBBS admission notice.

What is the approximate MBBS academic fee at AIIMS Deoghar?

AIIMS Deoghar follows the central AIIMS fee pattern, so the MBBS tuition and other academic charges together are around ₹5,500–₹6,000 for the whole course, excluding hostel and mess. Recent viral student videos mention a total MBBS course fee of about ₹5,586.

How much does the hostel and mess cost per month for MBBS students?

Official hostel components include ₹990 hostel rent, ₹220 gymkhana, ₹1,320 pot fund, ₹198 electricity, plus refundable securities of ₹500 (mess) and ₹1,000 (hostel), along with around ₹10,500 mess charges per semester. Are any scholarships or fee waivers available for AIIMS Deoghar students?

AIIMS Deoghar is a centrally funded institute with already subsidised tuition; MBBS fee itself is only a few thousand rupees for the entire course. Students mainly use external schemes like state or central government scholarships and education loans rather than institute-level tuition waivers.

Does AIIMS Deoghar provide internships and what stipend do MBBS interns get?

After completing the 4.5-year MBBS, students undergo a compulsory rotating internship of 12 months at AIIMS Deoghar and associated hospitals. Interns receive a monthly stipend similar to other new AIIMS, generally in the range of ₹25,000–₹30,000 depending on central norms.

Daily needs, eateries and basic entertainment are available, though big malls and metro-style nightlife are limited.

Can students work part-time or do coaching while studying at AIIMS Deoghar?

The MBBS schedule is intensive with full-day classes, evening postings and on‑call duties, so part-time jobs are practically not feasible. Some students manage short online tutoring or exam prep during lighter postings, but the institute prioritises attendance and clinical responsibilities.

How does AIIMS Deoghar compare with older AIIMS for MBBS?

AIIMS Deoghar shares the same central government status, low fees and national-level NEET cut-offs as other newer AIIMS, though its hospital and super-speciality services are still expanding compared with AIIMS Delhi or PGI‑like centres. Academic curriculum and degree are recognised equally across all AIIMS.

Is choosing AIIMS Deoghar better than taking MBBS in a top state government college?

AIIMS Deoghar offers significantly lower fees, centrally funded infrastructure, single-occupancy hostels and national-level exposure, whereas top state colleges might have stronger local alumni and older hospitals. Students with All India ranks in the AIIMS range often prefer AIIMS Deoghar over many state colleges for brand value and living facilities.
