When you think of luxury Indian bridal wear, one name instantly comes to mind: it’s Sabyasachi Mukherjee. A graduate of NIFT Kolkata, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has redefined Indian fashion. He is known for his rich textiles, intricate embroidery, and timeless traditional aesthetics. Moreover, he’s among the pioneers in creating temporary silhouettes. Also, thanks to Bollywood’s leading ladies like Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt, who have added to the hype for Sabyasachi. But it’s all worth it for this coveted designer.
Sabyasachi first came into the limelight for costume design in the movie “Black”. He gained critical acclaim for his work in the film. Known as the “Bad Boy of Indian Fashion,” the Late Rohit Bal is one of NIFT’s most flamboyant and creative alumni. Famous for his love for opulent fabrics, detailed craftsmanship, and motifs like lotuses and peacocks, this famous NIFT alumni has helped transform the Indian fashion game. A NIFT Delhi graduate, Bal has dressed Bollywood stars, including Amitabh Bachchan, for ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ for years. He also collaborated with Khadi Gram Udyog and has significantly helped the organisation with his flamboyant designs.
His bold vision has helped put Indian fashion firmly on the global map. Rohit Bal’s stellar career spanned more than two decades. Moreover, in 2012, at the Lakme Fashion Week, he was awarded the ‘Grand Finale Designer’.

He transitioned from design to acting and has since established a name for himself in Bollywood with his versatile performances. Two years later, in 2007, he performed a catwalk show in the prestigious Paris Fashion Week. Arora is among the few Indian designers to do so.

Kusha came into the limelight for her witty sketches and relatable characters on social media. The NIFT Delhi passout has gone on to appear in OTT shows, reality TV, and also Bollywood films.
