Completed my BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Gauhati University, and the experience was both fun and fulfilling. Over the four years, I not only enjoyed campus life but also learned a lot of new things that helped shape my personality. It's a vibrant place for both academic and personal growth.

Worst university ever. Not declared results timely. Academics were not up to the mark. No placement cell. Not checking answer sheets properly. Very good students might also get back in subjects due to their negligence. People working here are not interested in helping students always rude and baseless.Can not meet Controller of examinations. Delayed everything. Any student can write an essay.

Gauhati University also known as GU, is a collegiate public state university located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established on 26 January 1948 under the provisions of an Act enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly and is the oldest university in Northeast India.[3] As of 2024, Gauhati University is esteemed as the 40th-ranked institution in India according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), securing its position within the top 100 educational institutions.[4] It is accredited with a grade of 'A+' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in its 4th cycle of accreditation on 5 July 2024.The university is in Jalukbari in the Guwahati city area. The campus has a hillock on the southern side and the Brahmaputra river flows on the northern side. The campus area has been developed into a small township, now known as 'Gopinath Bardoloi Nagar'.Gauhati University offers a diverse range of postgraduate programs, including 23 courses in Master of Arts (MA), 21 courses in Master of Science (MSc), 5 courses in Master of Technology (MTech), 3 courses in Master of Medical Laboratory Science as well as programs in Master of Commerce (MCom), Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc), Master of Laws (LLM), MSc in Nursing, and Master of Tourism and Management (MTM).

Vibrant and dynamic place, full of opportunities for learning and growth, the chance to expand one's horizons and learn about new cultures and ideas.Also great campus. Truly amazing. The University is beautiful and inviting, full of green spaces and beautiful buildings. The campus is alive with activity and the atmosphere is one of energy and excitement. Very diverse and engaging.

It offers excellent connectivity with well-maintained roads and proximity to the railway station. The canteen provides hygienic and budget-friendly options. The vast campus areas are impressive, and the administrative staff is remarkably helpful. The inclusion of a playgroup adds a nice touch, contributing to an overall clean and inviting campus environment.

I'm a student of Btech Bioengineering department, Gauhati University and gonna graduate this year. I have spent 3 and half years in this campus, such a mysterious and peaceful place. Will miss the campus and hostel life most. Will carry lots of memories along with my graduation from this campus.Always love Gauhati University 🌺

The university is in Jalukbari in the Guwahati city area. The campus has a hillock on the southern side and the Brahmaputra river flows on the northern side. The campus area has been developed into a small township, now known as 'Gopinath Bardoloi Nagar'. It has about 6000 population including 3700 students residing in the hostels. Apart from the residential quarters of teachers, officers and employees, there are 22 halls of residence for students. The necessary civic amenities such as health service, water supply, street lighting, internal roads, guest house, post and telegraph office, a branch of the State Bank of India, United Bank Of India, canteens, a market, parks, playgrounds, auditorium, indoor stadium, etc. are on campus.
