Lovely experience to visit this institute. The scholars and professors are very polite and actually great persons to make conversation with. One of the best institute in India in the research field. Also, the ambiance is very calm and enjoyable. Nearest metro station and rail stations are 10 minutes away walking distance.

Great experience and great institute , courses are really good and professors are very polite and friendly. It is one of the best research institute in India specially in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Economics ..etc. This institute provides graduation, post-graduation (MSTAT,MMATH,MSQE, MTech in CS, CRS),PHD degrees.

ISI Kolkata is the oldest premier statistical institute of India established by the visionary scientist Dr. PC Mahalonabis. The campus is located near Bonhooghly Dunlop area of Kolkata on BT road with good connectivity from Shyambazar and Baranagar Metro.

Indian Statistical Institute is one of the leading research institutes of India with international importance. Professor Dr. Mahalanobis had the vision to transform India with the help of statistics. He founded Indian Statistical Institute and made India as the world center of data analysis. He single handily trained many scientists. Many of Indian don't know why India is now a world center for data analysis. This is because of Professor Mahalanobis. He advocated the use of statistics in social, engineering and in natural science and devised novel techniques such as Mahalanobis distance, which is helping scientist to have deep insight into phenomenon which otherwise not possible. Statistics not only helped economic development of India but also established India re regain its lost Glory of pioneer in the science of Numbers. It is great to mention here that the zero was invented inIndia. Institution has a very unique architecture, which you will never find in any other national institute. ISI is full of trees, gardens and pools filled with fishes. It does not look like an institute at the first place and does look like a garden. They organise statistical workshops for research students and in 2017 I joined the workshop. Building has housed some rare specimens of fossils as well and one of them is Barapasaurus Tagorie. Barapasaurus Tagorie is the most complete herbivore skeleton found in India. There are other fossils as well.

Professors are great..Spent one semester in this place as a part of post graduation in business analytics.. had a great time learning wise..Not many food options inside campus

One of the premiere institutions in India. Excellent infrastructure, wonderful ambience and renowned faculties are the strength of this Institute. Prof. Bimal Roy, Ex director of this ISI Kolkata, had done extensive work to popularize cryptography in different aspects. Cryptography research is possible only at ISI. Machine learning, population study, Pattern Recognition Unit, Stat Math Units names a few among various choices. Recently Prof. Neena Gupta received ICTP Ramanujan Award, she is faculty at SMU. Renowned Number Theorist Ritabrata Munsi was awarded the same prize once. There are many feathers on the crown of ISI. Recently ISI is collaborating with IBM for AI, ML, Data Science courses.
