Eligibility:

  • Master''''s Degree (or equivalent) in Sanskrit from a recognized university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories as per UGC norms. Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship holders are exempted from the Ph.D. entrance test.

Duration: Minimum 3 years (including coursework), Maximum 6 years. Women candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates may be allowed a relaxation of 2 years.

Credits: Coursework: 12 Credits (Total program credits beyond coursework not specified in ordinance) Credits
