Best location, close to nature, healthy environment, clean & well maintained campus, nice & cooperative staff, rich library, very ideal for teaching & learning prospects. Monsoon showers, floating clouds on nearby hills, cool breezes from Trikuta range of Himalayan mountain makes this place special.

It is a govt aided univ near katra, jammu. It has beautiful infrastructure and the beautiful blend of nature makes it even more adorable. Education wise it is a tier-3 univ, but some students here have grabbed not less than anyone. It is in the lap of trikuta hills under the grace of goddess shri mata vaishno devi maa.

Best University of Jammu and Kashmir. The kind of environment you will getting here is awesome. Campus life is good here, Sports facilities are not good. Internet facilities are good,we have 5 Mbps speed here. Deans are the most biased ones, specially with girls. They are discriminated in everything. Girls are not allowed to leave their hostels after 8 pm. Placement are not good but SMVDU has got it's own TBIC (Technology business incubation centre) to start new business startups which is funded government of India. Near by places :- Devi pindi ,Nau Devi , Shri mata vaishno Devi, etc. In weekends, the University looks like empty because some jammuites is so obsessed with their home.

Beautiful and the best university in Jammu and kashmir. It is situated in katra near the holy shrine of mata Vaishno Devi . One can take a bus from bus stand jammu to reach there. It hardly takes 1-2 hrs to reach there. The view of trikuta hills from here looks so amazing😍 and the lush green trees just add to its beauty.

beautiful place ...healthy environment...good faculty...sweet people....it changed my conception about j&k ...mata vaishno always shower her blessing here...I saw the real beauty of nature after coming here.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, referred to as SMVD University or SMVDU, is a Government Owned Higher Institution located in Katra, Reasi district, J &K. It was founded in 1999, a Public University recognized by UGC and is established on 470-acres (190 ha). The University provides technical education in the field of engineering, architecture, science, management, philosophy and other subjects, with all technical courses recognised by AICTE.The University is located on the hills near the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. It is also near the Katra railway station.

5 stars are less for this place, my second home.. a lot of beautiful memories are attached with this place.. good environment, beautiful views and a pleasant weather..

Cafeteria infrastructure must be improved there is no ideal cafeteria area nothing expected like this in this prestigious University good name and fame but there is no cafeteria.There is just an open cafeteria which is not a cafeteria but it just like a countryside dhaba University must think of the basic necessities of a student coming from outside giving any exam of shrine but there is no such a good facility all around for any type of hospitality....
