JEE Main Important Topics: Subjects Covered

Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the foundation of JEE Main. However, rather than treating each chapter as an equal, it is wiser to subdivide them into:

  • High weightage chapters- are the ones that are asked almost annually with several questions.
  • Chapters of conceptual scoring – fairly simpler, ideal in fast scoring.
  • Low weightage sections – significant, but not so common.

Tips To Cover JEE Main Important Topics

It is practically impossible to cover everything in the JEE Syllabus  2026 in the last few months. That is why a clever plan is better. Here are detailed tips:

Give a Priority to the Chapter of Importance.

Study the most important JEE Main Physics 2026 and Chemistry 2026 chapters, as well as Calculus and Geometry in Mathematics.

Divide Time Per Subject

  • Physics 2 hrs per day (numerical + concepts)
  • Chemistry- 1.5 hrs/day (NCERT + rapid revision)
  • Maths -2.5 hrs per day (problem practice)

Make Sure to Solve Previous Year Papers.

Previous year papers repeat concepts. Attempt at least 10 years of JEE Mains Physics, Maths and Chemistry questions.

Make Formula Sheets

  • Physics- Laws, derivations, formulas.
  • Maths- Integration, Geometry properties.
  • Chemistry- Reactions, exceptions, NCERT tables.

Take Practice Tests To Manage Time.

Practise full 3-hour tests to develop speed and precision.

Do Not Overlook Simple High-Marketing Subjects.

  • Physics- Modern Physics, Optics.
  • Chemistry- NCERT based Inorganic.
  • Maths- Probability, Vectors

Revise Regularly

The remaining 2 months would be mainly revision of imp topics to be used in JEE Mains, rather than studying new chapters.

Analyse Mistakes

Analyze after each test error. Was it some dumb mistake, concept gap, or time problem? Correct it the same day.
