Also known as “AIIMS OF THE NORTH EAST”. This is truly an incredible medical institution. With having vast campus, huge infrastructure, various multidisciplinary departments, it caters patients from all over India. (Especially 7 sister states) With having a clean air, blissful environment, and serene hospital, this will take your breadth away.😍❤️😍❤️ As it is a central government institution, pay grade for all the doctors, nurses, non medical staffs are also very good. We need few more such kind of institutions in the north east to boost healthcare facility.

I strongly advise individuals with thyroid or goiter issues not to visit this hospital, especially if they are seeking proper treatment—this is based on my personal experience. We traveled all the way from Upper Assam, India, only to be deeply disappointed. The government-appointed doctors here seem more focused on teaching students than on genuinely consulting or treating patients. Their dismissive and arrogant attitude gives the impression that the hospital is their personal property, inherited from their ancestors, rather than a public institution built with taxpayers’ money. As Indian citizens, we have every right to access quality care in such government-run facilities. But when there is no commitment to proper treatment, what is the point of visiting an institute like this? We visited this hospital with hope—especially after Dr. Bhaskar Boraguhai promised to meet us the next day and ensure transparency in our treatment. But he never showed up. That kind of neglect is shocking and disheartening. After such blatant neglect, any explanation is simply unacceptable. Furthermore, when a CT scan was prescribed, we were told the earliest available slot was a month away. Does this institution exist to care for patients—or merely to delay and frustrate them?

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5) As a first-time visitor to Nigrim, I found it very difficult to get proper guidance. The staff didn’t clearly explain where to go or which department to visit. Even when I asked, the response was vague and unhelpful. Most of the staff, including some security and nurses, seemed uninterested in assisting. I’m sure there are good people working here, but unfortunately, I haven’t come across any helpful or welcoming staff during my visit. Clear directions and better communication would really improve the experience for new visitors.
