The Doctor of Philosophy in Latin American Studies is a flagship course of School of International and Area Studies, Goa University, offered based on Goa University PhD Entrance Test (GU-PET) scores. PhD Programs

• Eligibility: A Master's Degree or a Professional Degree equivalent to Master's Degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/Person with Disability). A Master's degree in a relevant subject is mandatory for consideration at the University.
• Minimum Academic Requirement: A minimum of 55% in the Master's program, with a preference for applicants with research experience.
• Research Proposal: A detailed research proposal outlining your intended research area is required, subject to faculty approval by the School.
• Entrance Exams/Interviews: Admission often requires clearing the Goa University PhD Entrance Test (GU-PET). Candidates with valid NET JRF, SET, UGC NET, CSIR NET, SLET, JEST, ICAR-NET, GATE, or GPAT scores may be exempted from GU-PET, but an interview is typically part of the process.
