College of Community Science, Dharwad, formerly College of Rural Home Science, is a public institution contributing significantly to home and community science education in North Karnataka. Established in 1974, it operates as a constituent college of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, with a curriculum evolving to meet modern agricultural and rural industry demands. The college provides diverse academic programs: undergraduate (B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science, B.Tech. (Food Technology)), postgraduate (M.Sc., M.Tech. in Food Science and Nutrition, Family Resource Management, Textile and Apparel Designing, Human Development and Family Studies, Extension and Communication Management), and doctoral degrees for advanced research. It serves 293 students with 17 dedicated faculty members, fostering an engaged learning environment. Though initially a girls' institution, it became co-educational in 2008-09, now including male students in its diverse cohorts.
